Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:1.9.2) Gecko/20100115 Firefox/3.6 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:1.9.2) Gecko/20100115 Firefox/3.6 Local files use to open when you would double click the file. Now in 3.6 the files do not open. Firefox becomes the application with focus but the page never shows up. There are no spaces in the file name, although there are spaces in the path name Firefox does think it is the primary browser drag & drop the file to a firefox window does indeed load the page. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.find a local file with spaces in the path name 2.double click file 3. Actual Results: firefox becomes the application with focus, but that's it. Expected Results: I would expect the file to be opened. bug 530064 says this was fixed.
bug 530064 is fixed in Gecko1.9.3a1 or later but if I quote your build ID: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:1.9.2) You are using a build without the fix.

I do not understand your comment. Yesterday I downloaded the latest version of Firefox 3.6, today I clicked "check for updates" and firefox told me I am at the latest. I am also at the latest version of mac os 10.5.8 What program do I need to update to get firefox to work? Yesterday's version of firefox 3.5 worked fine. Can you provide a link of what I need to update? thanks (In reply to comment #1) > bug 530064 is fixed in Gecko1.9.3a1 or later but if I quote your build ID: > Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:1.9.2) > > You are using a build without the fix. > > *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 530064 ***
You have the latest release ! The bug is fixed in the source code and will be in the next 3.6 Firefox version that gets released. (3.6.1) in other words: You have to wait for the next release or downgrade to Firefox3.5.x until the next release of the Firefox 3.6 series.
