543395 - each time i use firefox and close then try to reopen it says i already have firefox running

Each time i log into fire fox i have to reboot my pc every time because when i try to open fire fox it tells me i have a version already running and i have to close it or reboot my computer. I have tried using just the x in the top right hand corner it still does it i have tried going to the top left using the file close tab, close window and exit there as well and it still does it. I even upgraded to version 3.6 and it is still doing it this just started happening about a month ago

I do not think i am using any specific theme i have just loaded the standard firefox

Check to see if you have more than one version of Firefox installed. Uninstall the old versions if present. If not, disable any installed Ad-dons one at a time to see if they are causing a problem. Until the problem is found you can reopen Firefox without rebooting the computer by using Task Manager to end any Firefox Processes that may be running. Press Ctrl+Alt+Del at the same time to enter the Task Manager.

Firefox is still open but hidden if you get this issue.
As workaround you can open the windows taskmanager and kill the Firefox.exe under the process tab.

and only reopen this bug if you are sure that the hang on exit isn't caused by an addon or plugin
