See bug 538160 and its many dupes. The Ghostery extension seems to be a common cause of zombie Firefox 3.5/3.6 processes. Bug 538160 comment 7 says that the developer was made aware of the problem on Jan. 8 but no fix is available yet.
Based on this seemingly high occurrence rate, I think it would be wise to put a soft block on the this extension for Firefox 3.5+. I'm not sure how far back this problem goes in the Ghostery version history, so blocking 2.0.2 may be enough or it might affect all versions with support listed for 3.5, in which case blocking all versions <=2.0.2 for Firefox 3.5 would be needed.
Cww: Any idea how common of a reported issue this is on SUMO and elsewhere?

Actually, it might be a good idea to soft block all Ghostery versions now and then exempt a version that fixes it later, in case the next doesn't fix it.

Based on the large spike in these sort of bug reports after 3.5.7 came out, I think that there are many more incidences, the reporter just never got back.

By the way, Ghostery looks to be pure JS, so this is also indicative of a Firefox bug of some kind. Anyone know what's going on there enough to file a bug?

A Ghostery version 2.0.3 is on AMO, but it has no release notes. (why are AMO editors allowing that?) Anyone know if it actually fixed the issue or not?

:sigh:
The Blocklisting component seems to be a bit of a black hole.
Tyler: You were the one triaging most of the bug reports for this. Are these Ghostery issues still happening? If it's no longer an issue please close.

I have not seen anything that has been linked to ghostery for a while. It seems that ghostery released an update or two, and I think that they fixed it. Now, there are still reports of this, but reporters usually don't get back to us. But, I think it's safe to close.
