547438 - Can't clear history, history setting wrong in Preferences

I have always had my preferences set to retain history for no more than one day.  Current preferences have the choice to retain history for at least 1 day.  To me, this would indicate that history is retained indefinitely.

I also cannot clear my history by going into the "Show All" tab, selecting all, and choosing delete.

History will not clear even if you select to clear history when Firefox closes - this part of the bug has already been reported.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.History - Show all history
2.Select yesterday, select all, Delete
3.History does not delete
Actual Results:  
History does not delete

Expected Results:  
I would expect the history to delete.

History should delete.  However, this should not be required if preferences were programmed correctly.

this means history is retained for at least one day, at last 180days (per default settings).

preferences ARE working as intended.

Why don't you use Clear Recent History in Tools menu?

Btw, when deleting history in the Library (Show All History), ensure that you issue is not caused by an add-on, try in Safe Mode: http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Safe+Mode

I understand that it means history is retained for at least one day.  THAT IS NOT WHAT I WANT.  I WANT IT THE WAY IT USED TO BE - TO NOT KEEP HISTORY LONGER THAT ONE DAY!!!!!!!!!

YEAH, WELL THAT WORKS JUST LOVELY - IT KEEPS MY FREAKING HISTORY FOR 7 DAYS.  I DON'T WANT IT TO DO THAT!!!

No reply, INCOMPLETE. Please retest with Firefox 3.6.13 or later and a new profile (http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Managing+profiles). If you continue to see this issue with the newest firefox and a new profile, then please comment on this bug.
