If you click on any of the links for the stories on the "Meerkat: An Open Wire Service" page at the above URL, Mozilla will simply exit. It does not seem to crash in that no Talkback is generated nor does it dump core. If I right click on the links and pick "Open Link in New Window", the story loads ok. I get some stderr messages, but they do not seem particularly helpful: Document http://www.phpbuilder.com/forum/read.php3?num=3&id=101660&thread=101656 loaded successfully Setting content window *** Pulling out the charset in SetSecurityButton Tested in Mozilla 093009 on Linux.
I'm also seeing this on Linux build 2000093009. It may be a red herring, but I spied some ILAYER tags in this page's source.
WFM on Win98SE 2000100120-M18.
I tried it again on Mozilla 100215 on Linux and it is still failing. This time, however, it actually crashed and generated talkback incidents. Unfortunately, I did not get an ID for the incidents. Their dates are 10/02/00 7:53pm and 7:55pm and have http://www.oreillynet.com/meerkat/ as the URL. An earlier 10/02 Mozilla build on NT worked ok. I also believe that this is a relatively recent Linux regression.
you can start talkback manually, i think the file name is talkback in the components dir.
