There's several bugs around bug 443634 that the current list of attachments when printing messages is too long and wasting paper. Think about it, and realize the shortest list would be no list at all.
STR
1 have mail with 30 photos attached
2 print the mail
3 curse about bug 387237 (forced to print inline previews of all 30 photos)
4 look at list of attachments (currently printed at the end of message):
Actual result
long printed list of attachments:
img001.jpg
------------
img002.jpg
------------
img003.jpg
------------
....
Even if bug 540571 gets implemented, you'll still have a pretty useless list of 30 entries:
Attachments: img001.jpg, img002.jpg, img003.jpg...
Expected result:
- User should be able to choose if he wants the list of attachments printed or not; for many use cases as with the 30 photos above, the list is completely meaningless and redundant
-> An option should be implemented to omit attachment files list when printing
Proposed UI:
- add checkbox option "Print attachments list" to: Page setup > format & options > -options-)
[ ] Print background (colors & images)
[ ] Print inline attachments [bug 387237]
[ ] Print list of attachments [this bug]
Bryan (ui-review), what do you think?

Request UI-review for 'Print Attachment List' Checkbox.txt
question; not plus or minus.
This seems like an option that might be wanted per print and not as global as I believe the page setup options are. Is that true? If so should we be placing this option somewhere else?

Bryan, thx for looking into this. Agreed, the option not to print attachment list makes sense per print. But, from that pov, *everything* that is currently in the global "Page setup" dialogue, actually makes sense *per print* (e.g printing background colors/images, portrait/landscape, scaling etc.). However, we cannot place each and every of those options directly on the print dialogue. Therefore, I believe the best solution would be to add a [Page Setup...] button to the print dialogue so as to link the two dialogues more intelligently. I opened a new bug for that:
Bug 642607 - Implement / Add [Page Setup...] button to Print dialogue
Attachment 520031 [details] has a mockup screenshot for ui-review (clarkbw).
We certainly do want to remember the "page setup" options until the user changes them again (rather than changing back to default options with each call of the print dialogue), so in that sense they will still remain "global".

In view of Bug 642607, and to avoid cluttering the print dialogue, I can't think of anywhere else to place this option -> requesting ui-review again

Yeah, I think I like this idea, and the idea behind bug 387237.
