549285 - Blank additional window when linking from other application, add-ons won't load, blank window won't close

When I open Firefox bookmarks via Launchbar (http://www.obdev.at) an additional, blank window opens atop of the bookmark page. In this blank window add-ons report errors (Zotero). This only happens on start up (Firefox is not running yet). This blank window must be closed by using button (cmd+w doesn't work). 


Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Make sure Firefox is default browser
2.Open Launchbar
3.Choose and launch bookmark from Launchbar
Actual Results:  
Bookmark opens in window behind blank window.

Expected Results:  
The application should start with only the requested window open.

All other browsers works fine with the Launchbar application when I set them to be default browser (Safari, Omniweb, Opera, Chrome). One could argue this is a minor problem, but I think it should be fixed and I think it is related to the fact that Firefox keeps a blank window whenever last window with content is closed (no other browsers for Mac OS X does that). Moreover, the extra, blank window is malfunctioning with regards to add-ons in the context mentioned above, so it must always be manually closed. Hope you can look at this.

Does it also happen in safe-mode? http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode

Ria: This happens when other apps open Firefox while it is not running,so I don't know how I could test this is in safe mode.

I have tried links from Novamind 4.x too now. What happens then is that the link does not open at all, only the blank window. Then, with Firefox still open, I try the link in Novamind again, and it works (no new blank window/tab). Same thing: It should not be the script in Novamind that causes this, because no other browsers has this behaviour if I change default browser. This is a bit different behaviour than the bug I originally posted, but I suppose it is related.
