I am trying to access a site via ssh's built-in SOCKS proxy. When I do so, I get the following error message: The proxy server is refusing connections Firefox is configured to use a proxy server that is refusing connections. But there's nothing wrong with the proxy - the proxy is still working on other sites - it's the destination site that is not (apparently) working (ssh says connection refused). (This is kind of the dual of a bug that I used to encounter - Firefox for many years used to give the wrong error message whenever I tried to connect to a proxy that was down.)
