549332 - Spell checker should not check forwarded/replied-to message on sending

The spellchecker always checks the original message when you forward or reply and include the text inline.  To me, this seems like incorrect behavior, since you generally wouldn't change someone else's text.

I would prefer it stopped where new text ends, or at least asked if it should continue into that section.

I'm not sure whether this is a bug or an enhancement, but I can confirm (Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9.1.8) Gecko/20100216 Lightning/1.0b1 Thunderbird/3.0.2 ID:20100216161403).

Another related bug looks like bug 173046.

based on that this even looks like a regression.

does this fail for you with trunk build or v3.1?

WFM Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9.3a6pre) Gecko/20100621 Shredder/3.2a1pre i.e. I don't see this when clicking spell check and check on send. bug I see this with spell as you type. 

is this not a dup of bug 386040?

Confirming this issue in Tb v8.0 (Linux Version).
Btw, as Wayne mentioned, this problem occurs only with 'Spell check as you type' option enabled.
