User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2) Gecko/20100115 Firefox/3.6 GTB6 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729) Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2) Gecko/20100115 Firefox/3.6 GTB6 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729) Windows XP Explorer (not Internet Explorer) takes about 1 min to open each time. This happened since I installed Firefox 3.6 and/or the latest Windows XP build. This problem only happens if Firefox is the default browser. If I make Internet Explorer the default browser, the Windows Explorer opens as quickly as it always does. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install Firefox 3.6 on a Windows XP platform 2. Install the latest build of Windows XP (Version 5.1 Build 2600; Service Pack 3) 3. Make sure Firefox is the default browser, then try to open Windows Explorer Actual Results: Windows Explorer (not Internet Explorer) will take about 1 min to open. Expected Results: Windows Explorer should take about 1 to 2 seconds to open. If I make Internet Explorer the default browser, then Windows Explorer only takes 1 second to open.

Are you trying to open an explorer window, or starting the explorer process?
Opening an explorer window. Opening the Control Panel also takes very long.
