This began immediately after I downloaded Firefox 3.6.2 .Occurred in quite a number of URL's. Was so bad I had to restore back to 3.6 .
I am using an Intel Core 2 duo, Mac OS X 10.6.2 .
Reproducible: Didn't try

Does it also happen in safe-mode / with a new profile?
