Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; de; rv:1.9.2.3) Gecko/20100401 Firefox/3.6.3 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; de; rv:1.9.2.3) Gecko/20100401 Firefox/3.6.3 Way too many web pages play annoying sounds - which I'd like to mute. On the other hand there are a few pages with videos etc. where sound is necessary. So muting Firefox on the OS level does not solve the issue. Suggestion: Create a "Sound-Blocker" (like the popup-blocker) which - Auto-mutes all sounds which play without user interaction on page load. - Has options to mute/unmute specific sites. Reproducible: Always
Gecko can not control the sound that is coming from plugins, they play it without Gecko's control.
