Our goal for including a news feed (RSS/ATOM) in the live bookmark is to demonstrate dynamic, changing and relevant content. We would suggest you choose something your users are interested in and that is locally relevant. The guidelines for making recommendations are on <https://wiki.mozilla.org/L10n:Firefox/Productization>. By default this is the same as en-US, which is BBC news.
Iñigo, Marcos, do you have any suggestions?
The implementation is done via a change of the redirect on mozilla.com, and is a server-side change only.
Hi!
We think that the best news feed for the live bookmark is:
http://www.asturnews.com/rss/index.xml
from the www.asturnews.com (online newspaper).
Best regards!
Hi!
We're talking more about this point.
Please, could you wait our answer until tomorrow? ;) Thanks!

Most of our interaction in the productization bugs (search, readers, feed, and such) is done by stas, who's on vacation this week. So no hurry.
We'll need to get permission from the service providers, too, as we're increasing the load a good deal, and use their brands.
Hi! We're talking more about this point :S We need a Solomonic solution.
In Asturias there are more RSS online newspapers. It's not FAIR that we can decide who to enter, clearly favoring one.
Here are all RSS online news that we know now:
http://www.europapress.es/rss/rss.aspx?ch=395
http://www.asturnews.com/rss/index.xml
http://www.lesnoticies.com/rssfeed/index/
http://www.infoasturies.net/index.php?format=feed&type=rss
http://www.glayiu.org/rss/glayiu.rss
My questions:
1.- Can be possible use more that 1 news site in the Live Bookmark?
2.- If the point 1 can't be possible, could we create an aggregator RSS in our server (www.softastur.org) with all of them, and use that Live Bookmark with that aggregator? I think this is the best option, because if a new RSS news appears, it's easy update the Live bookmark :)
Best regards.

I don't think that "fair" is the design criteria here.
There is only one bookmark for the feed, and its primary reason to exist is to demo the live bookmarks feature. That is, it's not meant to be the "this is the best news source ever" bookmark, but it's supposed to give users the idea to put their own favorite one there.
I wouldn't suggest to mix the existing feeds into one, that sounds like you'd quickly end up with tons of different stories on the same subject, that could be pretty confusing.
If you'd give a quick summary on what the individual sites offer, and why you'd think it would be of interest to the users of the Asturian localization, we might be able to help you in making the call. Not sure how much cons against the feeds would help, but they're probably good to know as well.
Well, finally, we opted one of these:
Asturnews [http://www.asturnews.com]
It's a CULTURAL daily.
RSS: http://www.asturnews.com/rss/index.xml
EuropaPress [http://www.europapress.es/asturianu]
It's a NEWS daily.
http://www.europapress.es/rss/rss.aspx?ch=395
Both webs are a good candidate:
EuropaPress has more general themes for the news (Asturies,Spain,World).
Asturnews has more cultural themes for the news (Asturies).
Please, could you see the webs and choose the more correct (by the news context) for a live bookmark, please? :)
Thanks very much and best regards!

I did some research to evaluate the two options above. I used a service called Alexa to evaluate the ranking of each of the above websites.
For Europapress.es, their results are as follows
* Alexa Traffic Rank: 5,513
* Spain Flag Traffic Rank in ES: 155
* Sites Linking In: 5,875
For Asturnews.com
* Alexa Traffic Rank: 5,746,921
* Spain Flag Traffic Rank in ES: 118,221
* Sites Linking In: 77
You can check this yourself by visiting http://www.alexa.com/ and typing in the URLs from above.
Given the traffic comparison, I would suggest we go with EuropaPass. We will need to contact them to make sure they are OK with us including them in as our "Live Bookmark" in the ast version. Can someone find the contact them at the emails: comercial@europapress.es and sistemas@europapress.es
We should ask them if they are OK with us including their RSS feed as a service in the ast version of Firefox. Also, they should know that this may send a new considerable load of pings to their server depending on how many users actually start using ast-Firefox.
Once you have confirmed this with the provider, please forward the email to sethb at, or stas at mozilla.com. You can also post the yes/no answer in this bug.
Hi Seth! You can contact with EuropaPress here:
Contact Person: Pedro Martin
Email: asturias@europapress.es
If you need that we contact with him, please, tell us ;)
Thanks very much!

By the way, do you feel comfortable emailing them? I can email on your behalf. This is a good reference that we hightlighted earlier:

We'll need an IT ticket to actually implement the redirect still, right?
