this has been going on for a week or so and is hard to reproduce

repro:
open FF
open Gmail
open a mail without markup

result:
sometimes the letters are further apart than normal

see screenshot - right side is normal, left side is wide-spaced for some reason.
restarting FF sometimes make it go back from one to the other, sometimes not.

I think I may have seen this as far back as mid-March. Most recently (past 2 or so weeks), it seems like enabling/disabling/installing/updating any add-on may (or may not) trigger this but I have seen no clear pattern.

I think it is. March 17 would be right around the time I may have first seen this bug.

FYI: March 17 was when Bug 347930 - Tab strip should be a toolbar instead was landed, but I do not know if it the cause of this bug.
