Guys, with the all-out assault of webkit browsers, i think that it's high time for you to add a "quickstart" option to the firefox preferences. I'm sure there will be a ton of people to disagree with me on this one, but mark my words: if you don't do something to speed up the "cold start" of firefox you'll be out of the browser picture in one year from now. This is no joke, add an autostart-and-stay-in-memory option or your days are numbered. Hell yeah, even i will switch to webkit if i'll have to wait for 12 seconds (vs 4 for safari) to start my browser. (i confess, i have a ton of bookmarks set up, but this is no excuse for the 12 seconds that it takes firefox to start)
PS
If you decide to do this make sure you do it right, i.e. take care of the session cookies to be cleared when all windows are closed, and make sure the resident firefox components doesn't get flushed out of memory when hibernating. Firefox currently warm-starts in less than 2 seconds, so this should be the cold-start time too.
Reproducible: Always
Oh, and absolutely make the "quickstart" option checked by default.

Oh sheesh ... you never used Netscape 6.1 or Mozilla 1.0, didn't you ? There's a reason why the turbo mode was removed.
