Details

After installing mozilla M18 on a fresh machine under
/usr/local/mozilla, the components.reg file didn't exist
until mozilla was re-run as root. (and thus failed)
this installation step wasn't in the README.

This has nothing to do with ld.so.conf - it's an error that happens because of
bug 42184

You're right.
Let's reopen and make dupe of the right bug. (Is there a way to do this in a
single step?)
