User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; nl; rv:1.9.2.3) Gecko/20100401 Firefox/3.6.3 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; nl; rv:1.9.2.3) Gecko/20100401 Firefox/3.6.3 Fault: Pop-up screen appears: "Unresponsive script: file:///C:/Program%20Files/Mozilla%20Firefox/components/nsExtensionManager.js:2309". Firefox fails to start (hangs w/o starting up). Clicking "stop script" or "continue" has no notable effect. The only way to start Firefox is in "safe mode". Once in safe mode I found out by process of elimination that "Ask.com Toolbar for Firefox 2.1.0.5" appears to be the culprit. Whenever I switch it off the problem is gone, when I switch it on the problem reappears every time, again and again. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. (install and) switch on Ask.com Toolbar for Firefox 2.1.0.5 2. restart Firefox 3. the pop-up appears (as described above) Actual Results: Unable to start Firefox, even after clicking "stop script". Expected Results: Ehh, a functioning Firefox? ;-) Esp. after a click on "stop script" you'd expect it to stop, so Firefox can start. I figured out after a couple of hours why I couldn't use Firefox any more, but it caused a lot of grief and lost time. Therefore I thought it'd be a good idea to report it here, so you can look into this and eventually contact the developer. Since it effectively renders Firefox useless (except in safe mode) I think it's a rather serious issue. Maybe put the Ask.com Toolbar for Firefox 2.1.0.5 on the blocklist for now, until it's solved. Thus preventing other users from the same grief, keeping them happy! FYI: themes or any other add-ons and plug ins seem to have no effect on this issue.
