I've just updated to Firefox Sync 1.3b5, and on a whim I visited:
https://services.mozilla.com/sync/updated/
and it says:
> You're using an out of date version, please update to the latest version!
> Latest Update: Firefox Sync 1.2.3 (April 28, 2010)
> Recent changes:
> [etc]
(Note that my version is actually the most recent -- 1.3b5 is larger than 1.2.3, and Addons manager check-for-updates says I'm up-to-date.)
If I click "latest version" on that webpage (it's a link), it takes me to
https://addons.mozilla.org/services/install.php?addon_id=weave
and if I click through the prompts, it "Updates" my version of Firefox Sync to version 1.2.3 (which is actually a downgrade)

I just restarted after the Sync "update" mentioned at the end of comment 0, and I've confirmed that I now have Weave Sync v1.2.3 installed. (downgraded from what I originally had, as a result of clicking through the link on the "updated" site)
And unfortunately, https://services.mozilla.com/sync/updated/ *still* says
> You're using an out of date version, please update to the latest version!
even though I'm now running what that site offers me...

(I just re-upgraded to 1.3b5)
So if I visit
https://services.mozilla.com/sync/updated/?version=1.3b5&channel=dev
then it says I'm running the latest version.
If I remove either of the arguments ("channel=dev" or "version=1.3v5") from the URL, though, I get a page that says I need to update.
Expected behavior is probably that the page should instead say
"We were unable to determine your version of Weave"
instead of telling me that my version is out of date and linking me to a (possibly older) version to install.

Yeah, we don't handle the "randomly visited" case at all... but that's not a huge deal to me.
