(Note: this is filed as part of the “Paper Cut” bugs — we assume that there may be multiple existing bugs on this. Please make them block this bug, and we will de-dupe if they are indeed exactly the same. Thanks!) To reproduce: 1. browse through more than 20 links 2. Use the pull down menu of the back button (press and hold and wait a sec) 3. Notice that your last 10 items are the only ones showing, even though you have plenty of screen real estate Recommendation: We should show as many histories items as possible (per screen size) in this drop down from the back button.

Press and hold doesn't work anymore. And I think the limit's been increased to 15 tabs.

Works for me. > And I think the limit's been increased to 15 tabs. This is still the case. :jaws, this has been sitting around for 8 years and a duplicate was just filed.

Sure Gingerbread Man, until a few month ago there was the "Back/Forward History Tweaks" (https://addons.mozilla.org/fr/firefox/addon/back-forward-history-tweaks/) extension that was running fine (as long as it was supported before the new Mozilla APIs). Before entering the bug I asked help on Forums (https://forums.mozfr.org/viewtopic.php?t=136985)...

I'm not sure if we should fill the whole screen. When the list is at 15 items we could include a link to open the History sidebar which would be more useful and easier to use than the popup, which is very easy to accidentally close.

But History is general for the whole Firefox window, not only for the particular tab where we want to retrieve the list of URLs. If list is too long it can be added a scroll bar.
Maybe it's time to revisit this, since FF is now able to handle overview within the toolbar, e.g. there are some arrows displayed if the bookmark icon gets bigger.
Consistently, the same should be used for the back / forward button. Especially now when no webextension is available to workaround.
