If only one instance of Mozilla M18 is open and you close the view window for
page source, then the browser is closed, too.

worksforme on build 2000101420 win32.
Robert, what OS are you using? Does it give you any message before closing?
Any additional information is welcome.
Fabian.

Hi Fabian,
Why you ask me for the OS ? - From the Header at top of the bugzilla report you
can read, that my using OS is Windows 2000. This descripted bug you can see
sometimes only. Open an online!!!-page + View the page source + Close the
source window = Mozilla is closed, too !

I think it's very arrogant to ignore this maybe simple failure for your mind
and set the status to 'Resolved'. This is really a hard bug, how you can see
later. It seems there are more reasons to kill mozilla with its preview
windows. In one other case i let a frame 'src'-attribute to blank, because i
want to describe it later dynamic. If you then open the frame-preview window
over such a blank frame and after closing the preview window each time mozilla
crashes with an unhandled exception.
Example: http://212.223.75.2/dev/futue/mozilla/bug/default.asp
For reproducing this error you must open the frame-preview window over the
upper left frame.

Robert Dettmann, you filed a bug report that said closing the view source window
caused the browser window to also close (I assume you meant that it caused the
browser to crash). I have tested this with about 15 different URLs on Mac,
win32 and Linux and have not been able to reproduce this problem. In order to
triage this bug any further we need to be able to reproduce it. As the reporter
of the bug you have the powerto reopen the bug report. It would be very helpful
if you could figure out a set of specific steps to reproduce this bug with some
consistency.

Maybe cartoons are better than words. Here you can see a mozilla live crash:
http://212.223.75.2/dev/future/mozilla/bug/ViewBug.wmv ( 75k)
http://212.223.75.2/dev/future/mozilla/bug/ViewBug.avi (457k)
http://212.223.75.2/dev/future/mozilla/bug/ViewBug.zip ( 54k - packed avi)
I think mozilla is still very unstable, because daily i have explore more and
more bugs. Why ? - Windows 2000 will be not accepting slovelny code. You should
know the negative effects of older Microsoft-OS's. In NT 3.51 i you could make
memory leaks and nevertheless the program runs at first. And later after many
side effects it crashes. In NT 4.0 the same program was not running. But you
could make another mistakes without consequences. And now in Windows 2000 many
developers get the receipt for theirs unclean code.
Ok, i know that this statement is overload of layout...

Robert Dettmann, are the above links meant to demonstrate a crash "after closing
the 'Page Source' window"? I don't understand.

This was fixed post m18 iirc, close is the wrong word. You meant crash. In the
future please use talkback builds. Updating summary and resolving as a
duplicate of bug 53953
