On a particular set of pages, if I try to use Send Page in 2.0.4 I end up receiving (almost) blank messages. When done in 1.1.19 it attaches the HTML as desired.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. navigate to particular web page
2. choose Send Page from file menu
3. address message to myself
4. view message in inbox
Actual Results:
Here is the message I receive when using 2.0.4:

WFM (no problem sending <https://search.ku.edu:8443/EnterpriseController?actionType=main>) using SM 2.1b2pre (current trunk nightly). Can you please try whether you still see this with the latest SM 2.0.x, and again try with 2.1b1?
Whiteboard: [CLOSEME 2011-02-01 WFM]
It still doesn't work for me with 2.1b1 or 2.0.10. When i try sending that page to myself (and I haven't logged in) in 2.0.10 I receive:
Access to this system requires that you allow cookies to be set on your
computer. Please enable cookies in your browser and hit reload twice. You can
find your cookie settings under "Tools -> Internet Options" for Internet
Explorer and "Edit -> Preferences" for Netscape.
but in navigator I see:

What do you get when you send yourself that page?
WORKSFORME
Tested on proposed page, received mail shows page without problems

ok, I've finally figured out what is "causing" the problem for me. If I set my Cookie Acceptance Policy to "Allow all cookies" then it sends the page in email completely fine. If I switch my policy to "Allow cookies for the originating website only" then I get the email without any content. I have no idea why my cookie acceptance policy would affect sending a web page in an email but that's it.

Still works for me, while now I received text with blocked by default google logo
"Access to this system requires that you allow cookies to be set on your computer. Please enable cookies in your browser and hit reload twice. You can find your cookie settings under "Tools -> Internet Options" for Internet Explorer and "Edit -> Preferences" for Netscape."
Have you try to reproduce this on clean profile (Help - Managing Profiles)? Maybe there are some other options, which cause this issue?
That's my point. What I receive in my email should match what I see in my browser and they don't. It sounds like you are seeing the exact same behavior.
"What I receive in my email should match what I see in my browser and they don't"
Why? You blocked cookies from other site, and now asking why it's not displayed :)

I'm only blocking cookies from 3rd party sites. So if I view the page fine in my browser window, turn around and send it to myself, it should show up exactly the same in my mail window. That's why we use Seamonkey, no?

(In reply to long from comment #10)
> I'm only blocking cookies from 3rd party sites.
Nope, according to setting's name, it doesn't accept cookies from non-originated sites, your page is fron-end with Google integration, when SM tries to create page to send, it accepts cookie for ku.edu, but not for Google, just as setting states.
But I can be wrong, so you may wait, if any SM developer wants to look on this

I'm attaching a Live Headers transcript of me hitting the test URL. I don't see in there where any cookie is set except by search.ku.edu (I realize this is from Firefox but I don't believe Live Headers is SM compatible)

Yes, this still happens. Just turn off 3rd party cookies in seamonkey, visit https://search.ku.edu:8443/EnterpriseController. Send that page to yourself. Notice that what you receive is not what is visible in the browser window.

Thanks for that info. And per your earlier comments this is dependent in part on cookies.
My guess is what is happening in newer SM compared to prior version is "more correct". In fact, in Firefox https://search.ku.edu:8443/EnterpriseController?actionType=reload&lastcmd=login displays as
Access to this system requires that you allow cookies to be set on your computer. Please enable cookies in your browser and hit reload twice. You can find your cookie settings under "Tools -> Internet Options" for Internet Explorer and "Edit -> Preferences" for Netscape.
which is not what SM displays, but *is* what SM Send Page sends.
The "page" data being sent I think is being determined by what the browser thinks is focused because the backing html in both FF and SM I suspect are the same - click different areas and view source and you see both "Access to this ..." and the login form's code.
Keywords: testcase-wanted → testcase
