BUILD:
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.3a5) Gecko/20100610 MozillaDeveloperPreview/3.7a5
PLATFORM:
Ubuntu 10.04 64-bit
Linux kernel 2.6.32-22-generic
GNOME 2.30.0
PLUGINS:
IcedTea NPR Web Browser Plugin (using IcedTea6 1.8 (6b18-1.8-0ubuntu1))
Shockwave Flash 10.0 r45
When I load Facebook there is usually a chat button on the bottom-right of the window. Using the 3.7a5build1 64-bit build, this chat button is missing (ie. not loading). Using the bundled Firefox version (Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.2.3) Gecko/20100423 Ubuntu/10.04 (lucid) Firefox/3.6.3), the chat button loads and is usable.
I believe this chat app uses Java. You'll notice that my java plugin is not the official Sun binary. IcedTea is the JRE plugin for Mozilla-based browsers based on OpenJDK (Sun's official open source JDK). While one could certainly download Sun's proprietary JDK and do some terminal-fu to get it working on 64-bit Firefox, IcedTea is the plugin that installs when using the built in Plugin Finder Service (the path I think most users will take).
Here's a screenshot with Firefox Ubuntu on top and Firefox 3.7a5build1 on the bottom.
Henrik pointed out on IRC that this is a dupe.
