Build Identifier: eudora 8b9

Whether I use F7 or the option under 'view', the reading pane doesn't permanently stay closed. When I restart the program, it's back and I have to turn it off again.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Start Eudora
2.press F& or use option under 'view' to turn off reading pane
3.close and restart Eudora
Actual Results:
The reading pane is still on and I have to turn it off again.

Expected Results:
Reading pane will stay off until I turn it on again, not when I restart the program.
Confirmed. The Message Pane (Preview Pane), View->Layout->Message Pane setting is not remembered between launches.

I have recently installed Eudora OSE 1.0 on Ubuntu 10.04, 64-bit, and find that the remember function on that platform works as advertised. Beautiful!

I installed on Windows XP and may confirm the bug is still present with that. It's erratic. Sometimes, the settings are remembered. Sometimes not. Say, 30 percent yes, 70 percent no.

In both installations, I switched from Thunderbird 3.1 without erasing the profile.

It would be nice to have this bug fixed for the windows version.
Penelope didn't see any activity in the vcs for the last 8 years, closing.
