The folder drop-down at the very top of the XP filepicker is a folder history.
However, the standard GTK (GNOME?) filepicker dropdown at the same position,
looking the same (modulo skin), is used to access parent of the current folder.
Platform-inconsistency.

I just checked - both GTK and GNOME filepickers have the drop-down as described.

4xp - "Product Parity bugs. A bug is a Product Parity bug if it occurs on
Mozilla builds, but does not occur using the latest release of Netscape
Communicator 4.x or competitor products."

Suggestion: Move the current drop-down to another place and add a GNOME-like
drop-down at the current place.

This has already been fixed a long time ago. The folder dropdown 
in XP filepicker shows the list of ancestor directories.
