I'm using b12. This didn't happen when I first installed this version of Firefox Home, but it's happening reliably today. I think it's happening while Firefox Home tries to sync my history. FWIW, I've had to log into my account multiple times due to bug 572169, and I let tchung use his Firefox Sync account on my iPhone once, so there might be some cruft left over in Firefox Home from those things.

i got this to crash also on b12, but it was not using your steps and i am on a itouch. for me, i was browsing a website, and clicked the send url button through email.. and it crashed. hard to tell if its related or not since there's no stack trace. in any case, we need to investigate.

How many tabs/bookmarks/history are you syncing, and what device are you using?

Oh, and Tony, do you have email configured on your iPod Touch?

I'm using an iPhone 3G. I usually have fewer than 10 tabs open in my desktop Firefox, about 80 bookmarks, and >2000 history entries.

The 3G has half the memory of the 3GS, so I might have to reduce the # of history items synced for those devices.

These crashes were due to a severe memory leak in mDNSResponder (Bonjour?). By the end the OS was jettisoning Phone and SpringBoard.

Dunno if Firefox Home triggered the leak, but reducing the number of history entries shouldn't be necessary.

(In reply to comment #3) > Oh, and Tony, do you have email configured on your iPod Touch? I just tested it on my Touch and the app crashes if you try to email a link and don't have any email accounts set up.

Just to be clear here - there are two crashes we are tracking in this bug. One is related to comment #3 and #9 - not having email setup causes app to crash when you try to email a link. The other is related to Jesse's original report. Dan's looking into both.

The original bug Jesse reported should be fixed in the next build. Dan fixed the issue caused by the mDNSResponder.
