spin off from Bug 528657  

we need to keep track of

> - number of GCs run
> - number of memory allocations made, or bytes of memory allocated
> - number of web pages loaded in this session, or bytes of HTML displayed
> - number of JS scripts run,
> - number and type of plugins loaded

then send as part of crash reports.   This data might also be interesting to send along as part of "day in the life" and other test pilot studies.
