Without warning, version 3.6.6 was initiated on my mac 10.5.8 this morning. Now, my browsing capabilities and computer action in general is severely slowed.

Please provide specific things that are slow.

Also try Firefox's troubleshooting extensions and themes and or a new profile as outlined in http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Basic+troubleshooting
