Just a note: Segoe UI semibold isn't included in Vista, so installer will have to install both Firefox and font.

We're probably not allowed to distribute Segoe UI. On Win7 it should just be used automatically if it's set to be the system font, I think.

Well, you can ask MS for permission.(In reply to comment #2)

Well, at least you can try to ask MS for permission.

Not sure what do you mean by that.

Because light and semibold versions of Segoe UI fonts are bundled with Windows 7.
Windows Vista also contains some form of Segoe UI font.

Last I checked Win 7 include the semi-bold varation.

I was talking about Vista.

The UX guidelines state that Segoe UI should be used for GUIs. They do not mention the semibold weight variant.

I just realized that WLE installs Segoe UI to XP. Can be done the same for FX installer as well?

Change app button font preference to semi-bold then bold for Aero.

If this change only affects the app button, shouldn't the bug name be changed accordingly?

Meta bug perhaps?

I think he meant that you should rename it to "Use Segoe UI font in Firefox Menu of the Firefox in Windows Vista/7" or something among that line.

This bug didn't make a review request of anyone specific which means it's probably not going anywhere. Perhaps we can start with a UI r= or wontfix from Shorlander?

The screenshot isn't really useful, as it suffers from bug 578620.

Closing this old bug/patch because it's not clear to me if it's relevant now. See also comment 2.
IIRC, the current plan for the theme is to remove the "Firefox" button, so there's little benefit in fixing this now. Especially if it requires complexity to deal with unavailable fonts.
Feel free to reopen if still relevant, and attach a new patch with specific reviewer.
