This is driving me crazy! I keep getting server not found messages. It happens on other computers, too. Another Dell desktop running XP SP3, and an HP laptop running XP SP3. Here, let me just paste the most recent one, which said that it couldn't locate the server for MOZILLA!
Server not found
Firefox can't find the server at www.mozilla.com.
* Check the address for typing errors such as
ww.example.com instead of
www.example.com
* If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
connection.
* If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.
Reproducible: Sometimes
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to a website. It happens frequently with mail.yahoo.com
2.
3.
Actual Results:
Server not found
Expected Results:
I expected it to go to mail.yahoo.com, which should be the second easiest page to load after Google.

I'm experiencing this issue, too. However, I believe that in my case, it may be related to the fact that I sometimes have 50+ windows open. (Yes, I know, silly!) Regardless of how silly having 50+ windows may be, Firefox shouldn't lose the ability to do DNS queries, right? IE 9, Safari 5, as well as Outlook 2010 and the OS itself (via nslookup in a command window) continue to be able to perform DNS queries without a problem. I'm using Firefox 4.0.1 on Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.
