Subject URL http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/4.0b1/whatsnew/ (same as http://www.mozilla.com/) has poor legibility as result of rude CSS. It is a first class example of users' #1 web site complaint on usability expert Jakob Nielsen's Top Ten Web Design Mistakes of 2005 http://www.useit.com/alertbox/designmistakes.html
Attached 120 DPI 1920x1200 screenshot exemplifies:
1-content text is too small, here a fraction of UI text size and a tinier fraction of default size content text (42%: 13px^2/20px^2); rudely set in px, which entirely ignores user preferences
2-poor legibility is exacerbated by low contrast between text and background, which may or may not technically meet WCAG, but nevertheless does not result in nice user experience
Reminders:
1-Mozilla's web sites should be a leading example of best practices, which is inconsistent with rudeness
2-minimum text size is a user defense mechanism, which is unnecessary absent a web site offense of undersize CSS specification
3-zoom is a user defense mechanism, which is unnecessary absent a web site offense of undersize CSS specification

To be clear, that intention is obviously:
1-Rudeness
2-Showcase of bad behavior

I had this page open in a browser window, reloaded it after receiving the comment 1 bugmail, then typed new comment 2, submitted, and that, without any effort on my part, altered the status to FIXED. :-(

Note the bulk of content is a tiny fraction of browser UI text.

Note this all but eliminates the page's contextual sizing.

Closing old Mozilla.org website bugs due to them not being relevant to the new Python-based Bedrock system. Re-open if this is a critical bug and should be resolved on the new system too.

Fonts remain sized in px, so the root problem remains the same.
