The search function in TBird 3.1 should offer a dropdown list so I can refine the search by subject, receipient, message body etc.

In my recent update from 3.0 to 3.1, I cannot now get this dropdown list to appear.  The help screen shown in the above URL is for a Mac.  I run a PC.
The magnifying glass is on the right side of the search box.

NO amount of clicking will reveal a dropdown list so that I can refine the search parameters.

ALSO..I don't like the global function and want to search only by a single folder at a time.  

I LIKE - that the search function is lightening fast.
I DO NOT LIKE - that I cannot choose the folder and search parameters at the outset.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open TBird 3.1
2.Click on Search textbox magnifying glass as per the help guide referred to.
3.No dropdown list appears.  
Actual Results:  

Same as above.  Cannot get the Search dropdown option list to appear.

Expected Results:  

Search Dropdown list should appear.

Unfortunately that documentation is out of date for 3.1. I'll change this bug to cover updating the documentation.

In Thunderbird 3.1 we've separated out the quick search which was accessible from the drop-down menu into a separate quick search toolbar, the following link gives an idea of what you should expect:
