User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:2.0b1) Gecko/20100630 Firefox/4.0b1 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:2.0b1) Gecko/20100630 Firefox/4.0b1 When using 'tabs not on top' (and I love how how the 'Glasser' style theme is finally integrated) the glass-like look either completely glitches and goes transparent, or a ugly very annoying blue box pops up covering everything from half-way down the back button all the way along the top of the browser. These will pop up randomly just by using the browser (eg. switching tabs, using menus). Rendering it almost unusable. I can however maximize or minimize the window, then size it back down and it will be fine... up to the point I do practically anything in the browser. These are not site related as I was having these issues while typing this and browsing Mozzila websites. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open Firefox 2.Do about anything 3.BAM! Actual Results: Explained in the details. Expected Results: Remained normal? I use windows Stardock, but after seeing the problem I told the program not to theme firefox.exe. The same problems still occurred. I have no non-Mozzila addons running. Example can be seen here: http://www.majhost.com/gallery/JETFIRE/Pics/capture.jpg

Does it happen in a new profile? Or, when you aren't using a persona? http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Managing+profiles
I just tested a new profile with the same results. If you are talking about the Personas I'm thinking of, I'm not using any.
Something I forgot to point out is that the 'Minimize', 'Maximize' and 'Close (X)' buttons are completely unusable when the blue box occurs. I also just tried using the 'tabs on top' with the same issues as on bottom.

From the screenshot, you are using a persona in Firefox.

What you see there is the desktop background.

Correct. The only thing changed from the stock 4.0 beta is that I unchecked the 'tabs on top' option.

I have the same problem. I'll attach screenshot when it happens again.

When I allow Stardock to theme Firefox the status bar in the bottom turns black, and when I highlight any menu item it turns black as well. Stardock has themed every version of Firefox I've ever had, so I don't understand the aversion to it now.

because Stardock is a 3rd party theme developer.. if they don't have a version that is compatible with the most current build, file a bug with them.

That makes sense. So that aside, any ideas on the current issue?

If there is no one able to help or fix this. I am going back to 3.6, this is barely useable and I am fed-up with fussing with this entire issue.

(In reply to comment #13) > If there is no one able to help or fix this. I am going back to 3.6, this is > barely useable and I am fed-up with fussing with this entire issue. Does this still happen with StarDock temporarily disabled?

Changing back to the standard Vista theme seems to have fixed the issue. But why does 3.6 work with the theme and 4.0 does not?

quoting comment 11: "because Stardock is a 3rd party theme developer.. if they don't have a version that is compatible with the most current build, file a bug with them." There have been changes made in 4.0, and stardock is not up to date with those most recent changes.

Smaug noted that some newer hp laptops also come with Stardock. So this is something we may want to get outreach on. http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-77135-1&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=4041402&os=4063&lang=en

My computer is an Alienware laptop which also came preloaded with Stardock.

Can we do anything to this, or is this "just" a Stardock bug?

Have you tried the beta version of WindowBlinds? (http://www.neowin.net/news/windowblinds-719-beta) I see they list: "Improved compatibility with pre-release Firefox 4 and IE9 builds"

Feel free to renominate if this is a bigger issue than it seems, but I think this is Stardock's bug to fix.
