there is no way disable plugins in the way java/javascript can be disabled or images/cookies can be blocked. this would be most useful because as a web designer i need to know how a page is going to function with and without a particular plugin installed. a simple switch to turn them on and off would vastly simplify the process of designing pages with plugins.
Confirming this request for enhancement. This would be a really useful piece of functionality.
