When I read some groups online and then switch SeaMonkey Mail/News to offline, not all messages are downloaded for offline reading, although all groups are marked accordingly. It seems that some groups are skipped completely (for whatever reason).
When I switch back to online and then offline again, all messages that were missed the first time are now downloaded correctly.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Read some groups and then switch to offline. Watch the status messages.
2. Switch back to online.
3. Switch offline again. Watch the status messages.
Actual Results:
The first time, only a few messages are downloaded. The second time, all messages are retrieved.
Expected Results:
All messages should be retrieved at the first offline event.

Claus, by "groups" do you mean newsgroups? Or mail. If news groups, please give an example or two.

Wayne, I am talking of newsgroups, of course. I thought "groups" was clear enough, but obviously it wasn't.
What do you mean by "example"? I subscribed about 30 newsgroups, and I found no system which groups are skipped on the first download attempt. They seem to be selected randomly.

examples as in names of newsgroups (+server)
by randomly, do you mean it changes over time?
can you get a log capturing the small period of failure?
timestamp,nntp:5

Yes, it changes every time.
The server for all newsgroups is news.individual.de.

Claus, do you still see this problem when using a current version?

Is this still an issue with Thunderbird 140 or newer?

I still use SeaMonkey, so I don't have any information about Thunderbird.

Thanks for the quick response. Since the NNTP code has considerably changed with Thunderbird 102, moving this to SeaMonkey.
