Date modified on images saved from facebook are given the time stamp 12/31/2008 6:00PM. It's possible some other date tags to sort photos by also get the wrong date as they sort in the same order as the date modified. The date modified should be the same as the date created when an image is first saved and not edited.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. login to facebook.com
2. save any photo to your computer such as your profile photo or a friend's photo
Actual Results:  
Date modified will be given the timestamp 12/31/2008 6:00PM

Expected Results:  
Date modified should be same as date created.

Tested with google chrome and the date modified was the same as date created. Images from firefox used to save fine. I think it is a firefox 4 beta issue.

Noticed this problem when I was sorting images and saw new images were being mixed between old and new ones.

I've been able to save images from other sites in ff4 b1 and the date modified is the same as (or close to) date created. Only see the issue in facebook right now.

Tested on 3.6.7 beta and dates are fine there. Only FF4 B1 has the issue.

Discovered that the dates are correct if I drag an image from facebook, off the screen to the desktop or any folder. Only get the strange time stamp from a right click on the image and clicking save image as. I have tested with various sites and this only appears to happen with facebook.

Still occurs in the latest 4.0 beta2 pre as well.
