User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.2.6) Gecko/20100625 Firefox/3.6.6 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.2.6) Gecko/20100625 Firefox/3.6.6 I downloaded Firefox 3.6.6 about a month ago and found that the tab text color is ALWAYS black instead of following the specifications in the GTK theme I'm using. Right now, I'm using a black theme, but black on black is unreadable. Oddly enough, the tab text is white (following the GTK theme's specs) while a page is loading, but goes black after it's finished loading. Like I said, the tabs are coming out black on black, and it's unreadable. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Run any Linux distro with a GTK-based desktop (GNOME, Xfce, LXDE, etc.) 2. Select any dark theme (xfce-dusk is included with Xfce, whice is the only dark theme that comes with Xfce, although this problem applies to ANY dark theme) 3. Start Firefox and open some tabs or click links to open in a new tab Expected Results: Tab text color should follow what's in the GTK theme (in this case, the text on the tabs should be white) Tab text color is white while a page is loading, but goes black as soon as it's finished loading. However, this is a problem when using a dark theme. Right now, I'm using the "BlackFate" theme, but this problem is common to ANY dark theme.

Are you using another theme instead of the default one in Firefox? For me it looks fine with Firefox 3.6.7pre on Ubuntu 9.10 with a dark theme like DarkRoom selected.

Dao, please correct me but as far as I can see we are using the system colors for the tab and its label: http://mxr.mozilla.org/mozilla1.9.2/source/toolkit/themes/gnomestripe/global/tabbox.css#81 Fred, do you have any userChrome.css modifications in your profile which overwrite those colors? Try a fresh profile to make sure nothing else interferes here.

For me tab text color is rendered in proper system theme color as long as I don't set special colors in TabMixPlus or something. What may cause issues is blending the active tab background with some whitish image to make it stand out.
