User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64; en-US; rv:2.0b2pre) Gecko/20100714 Minefield/4.0b2pre Build Identifier: Minefield/4.0b2pre Tried to watch a Quicktime video and was denied being told to download it immediately. Thinking it had somehow not transferred over properly from the old browser, not being sure how that worked; I then reinstalled it just to see if it would overcome some inherent bug. This was not the case as it made no change whatsoever. I then began thinking that this 64 bit browser may require a 64 bit Quicktime. I had researched but there are no hints of such a thing existing. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Try to watch a Quicktime Video 2. Fail 3. Fail again Actual Results: Re-installation of Quicktime does not work.
Sounds similar to bug 579235...
Depends on: 579235
This issue is different from bug 579235. Firefox 64-bit currently only supports 64-bit plugins. I checked the binaries for my Quicktime plug-in and it only supports ppc and 32-bit. /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/QuickTime Plugin.plugin/Contents/MacOS> file QuickTime\ Plugin QuickTime Plugin: Mach-O universal binary with 2 architectures QuickTime Plugin (for architecture i386): Mach-O dynamically linked shared library i386 QuickTime Plugin (for architecture ppc7400): Mach-O dynamically linked shared library ppc
No longer depends on: 579235
Mathew, what information leads you to believe this bug qualifies as "common-issue+" and conversion? And does this still happen when using current version of firefox and quicktime?
