User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; WinNT4.0; en-US; m18) Gecko/20001027
BuildID: 2000102704 mozilla trunk build
Games at the EA.com AOL site http://aolcom.ea.com/clubroom/clubroom.jsp
fail to download and launch when the Play button is clicked. To test this you
will need to be logged in. I created an account with the username: mozillatesty
password: mozillatesty for testing purposes.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Login to https://aolcom.ea.com/login/slogin.jsp
2. Go to http://aolcom.ea.com/clubroom/clubroom.jsp
3. click on Backgammmon link http://images.ea.com/channels/clubroom/backgammon.gif
4. Click "play" button in Backgammon game at
http://aolcom.ea.com/clubroom/games/cc_bakgmn00/home.jsp
Actual Results: "10.4.5 404 Not Found
The server has not found anything matching the Request-URI. No indication is
given of whether the condition is temporary or permanent.
If the server does not wish to make this information available to the client,
the status code 403 (Forbidden) can be used instead. The 410 (Gone) status code
SHOULD be used if the server knows, through some internally configurable
mechanism, that an old resource is permanently unavailable and has no forwarding
address."
which redirects to http://aolcom.ea.com/Page_Unavailable.jsp
Expected Results: clicking "play" should begin a download of Java or Javascript
applet which prompts with a dialog requesting additional priveleges to install
and run on your computer.
This affects the Games Channel on all AOL brands (ICQ, Netscape, Compuserve, AOL
and Ea.com). The games and code work fine all other previous Netscape 4.x
browsers and MSIE, but not with NSCP6.
May be related to the jPilit chat failure bug 56142. Possibly a general signed
applets problem.

Is this being actively worked on? Can we get a patch?

Given the time and the lack of activity, it appears that this one has missed the
train.

The Status Whiteboard now says "[rtm need info][rtm-]"
Since I have been slapped, punched, and shot at for changing status whiteboard
entries in the past, I'm not going to correct it this time. But this bug cannot
be in both states at the same time. :P
I get a 404 error on the GAME Play button. Can you please give more information
about the how to run the game?
Thanks,
Ed
