I heard (but can't lxr right now to find it, dammit) that we do link to a
netscape.com page, which requires cookie acceptance, from open source. Sorry if
this is a lie. I wanted to file a bug to track this rumor.

/be
At a glance, I spy:

http://lxr.mozilla.org/seamonkey/source/modules/plugin/default/unix/nullplugin.h
#43 (and 46)

http://lxr.mozilla.org/seamonkey/source/modules/plugin/default/windows/plugin.h#
92 (through 97, and 100 hardcodes Netscape as part of the registry path)

Oh, see also the netscape.com in http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/showattachment.cgi?

Dan,

Here's another bug that would be fixed with the removal of the default plugin.
Yes, this could be done in the commercial tree as an overlay to the new XUL
which would be in the Mozilla tree per bug 83754.

I think Andrei had a bug like this-->reassign

...but at least for the default plugin, It think we should remove it altogether
in bug 83754.

Bugs targeted at mozilla1.0 without the mozilla1.0 keyword moved to mozilla1.0.1
(you can query for this string to delete spam or retrieve the list of bugs I've
moved)

Just wondering, why is this a bug? The URL will be moved to Javascript in bug
83754, but we still need to redirect to Netscape.com's Plugin Finder service as
long as Mozilla.org doesn't have one. Plus, Mozilla provides Netscape a good
testbed for this service.
