Since app tabs hide the title text, it is now impossible to see whether anything has happened without actually viewing the tab. As an easy fix, I would suggest making the background of an apptab orange whenever the title text changes. It may be a good idea to make this configurable so if there is an apptab where changing title text is not a notification,, it can be disabled. A better, long term fix would be to create a new API for browser notifications, accessible by webpages. Probably also with permissions like the location api. However, this may take a while to be adopted. Reproducible: Always I set the severity to major because I believe that it is a serious regression which eliminates most of the usefulness of apptabs.
