Details

Steps to Reproduce --------------------------------------- 1. I've tried installing Flash Player 10.1 w/ FF open or closed 2. 3. What should have happened: --------------------------------------- Flash sites like youtube should work What actually happened: ---------------------------------------- Automatic and Manual Install of Flash Fails even though it says installation succeeded in manual update
OS: Windows XP → Mac OS X
Version: 3.5 Branch → Trunk
If you go to about:plugins, is flash listed there? Are you sure you are installing the Firefox version of flash, and not the ActiveX?
Flash is NOT listed in about:plugins - and there is no way to get it from any of the associated help pages, which all link to http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ For example, I go to youtube, click a video. FF recommends I go to http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ to download the player. Automatically selects: Adobe Flash Player Macintosh OS X Adobe Flash Player version 10.1 Universal Binary for Macs | 7.44 MB Browser: Safari, Firefox, Opera Download time estimate: 7 minutes @ 56K modem I've tried installing it with FF open and closed.
Component: General → Flash (Adobe)
Product: Firefox → Plugins
QA Contact: general → adobe-flash
Version: Trunk → 10.x
I'm closing a lot of bugs which are filed as Adobe Flash bugs which are either irrelevant, not actionable, or not serious enough to track in the Mozilla bug tracker. For the most part, Flash bugs should be filed in Adobe bugbase, and we'll only track a few highly-critical issues in the Mozilla tracker.
