Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; Windows NT 5.2; WOW64; rv:2.0b2) Gecko/20100720 Firefox/4.0b2 ( .NET CLR 3.5.30729; .NET4.0C)
Whenever I try viewing a video from the apple website the quicktime player bar shows up (play, pause, etc..) but the video does not load even if I hit the play button. I also google'd for quicktime videos and the videos in the first link I went to did not work as well. The link from the search is (http://www.esm.psu.edu/Faculty/Gray/movies.html)
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Click on any of the video links from the above apple website.
2. You can try hitting the play button too. It does not work.
3. That is it. The video wont load.
Actual Results:
The player appears blank, the video does not play even after pressing the play button.
Expected Results:
The video should start playing seamlessly.
I tried the same link in IE and Chrome. The video streams perfectly. I have Quicktime 7.6.6.0 plugin in my browser. My OS is Windows XP 64 bit.

We need to find a regression range for this bug -- to find in which nightly it started happening. Thanks in advance to whoever can provide one!

Now, it works with FF 3.6.9 (new profile) and does not work anymore in FF 4.0b4 (new profile)
I uninstalled and re-installed Quicktime. It still does not work in FF 4.0 b4 (new profile) and in FF 4.0b5 (new profile). It does not work in FF 4.0b1 (new profile).
The only difference is that all the QT files (7 dll, one class) are in Mozilla Firefox\plugins directory and none in Mozilla Firefox Beta 5\plugins.
1. I copied the 8 QT files of Mozilla Firefox\plugins in Mozilla Firefox Beta 5\plugins :
Every QT videos work in FF 3.6.9 (new profile).
Some QT videos work in FF 4.0b5 (new profile) :
http://www.apple.com/iphone/gallery/ads.html#ad-meether
and some don't work in FF 4.0b5 (new profile) :
http://www.apple.com/iphone/ (Watch the iphone 4 video)
2. I removed the 8 QT files of Mozilla Firefox\plugins :
Every QT videos do not work in FF 3.6.9 (new profile).
For FF 4.0b5 (new profile), idem as in 1.
In conclusion, there are 2 issues :
* unable to propagate QT plugin for other Firefox version when installed in current directory
* two kinds of QT videos for FF 4.0 beta : ones that work with QT plugin in local directory, and others that don't.
OS: All → Windows XP
