I hope this is the right component. I did read the descriptions :) I was told
"it's a javascript thing" and the DOM things looked javascript-like.
You will need an account for shopping on tesco.co.uk for this, sorry. (And
PSM to set an account up) If you need an address/postcode for it then contact
me not by bugzilla :). You also need to allow about three thousand cookies.
Armed with your account, go to "groceries to your door" off www.tesco.co.uk,
login, and you will be taken to a screen with three little javascript windows
at the top and a message of "Welcome to the superstore" in the main part of
the window.
Your bug guidelines say "It all looks wrong and works worse" isn't the best
summary, but it's tempting :)
Problems:
On the three javascript windows at the top, it seems to me that the bottom
of them is not entirely displayed. It is as if the frame they're in (if they
are? I'm hopeless with frames and javascript) is slightly too small. Scrolling
down the list of items in each is extremely hard.
Examples: Bakery -> Bread -> Organic. When I make this choice, I can either
drag the scrollbar in the right-most box down and try to read the
erratically-scrolling contents, or click on the down arrow of the scrollbar:
but the down arrow disappears, and even if I scroll back up, it does not
always reappear. A similar problem occurs with Beers+Spirits->Beer-> (anything
in the third. I was looking for cans of beer (not lager): bitter, mild or dark.
If I select a category from the third box on the right ("Shelf"), I get a list
of products in the main part of that screen. There is no scrollbar, despite
the fact that there are many more products "off the bottom of the screen".
Testing with an aged Netscape (Communicator 4.61), I find a scrollbar there.
(Although it renders the three boxes at the top even worse.) Other than
text-only browsers, I have no other browsers I can try on this site, but I
am becoming increasingly convinced that it's somehow "designed for IE", as
it runs IIS (I think) and I saw someone using it with IE on a Windows machine
with no trouble: the three boxes at the top were still very small but the
scrollbars worked and the arrows didn't vanish from the scrollbars; and the
scrollbar on the main part of the window was certainly there.
I am using a recent nightly: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux 2.2.16-22 i586; en-US;
m18) Gecko/20001027. I shall get an even more recent one and try again.

Looks like this could be a dupe of bug 55334, could someone confirm and mark as
such if that's the case?
