My @momo address is an alias on my @personal one. I'm subscribed to thunderbird-drivers@ .

Nothing in the header indicates which identity should be used for replying.
We speculated about this in IRC a bit. The problem is that Thunderbird is likely to not have any data about the address that was actually subscribed to the list. It could be that what's called for would be to create a (X-)List-Subscriber-Email header that mailing list software would include that Tb could key off of. Probably the first step would be to see if any existing mailing list software has custom headers of this sort, or if there are any standards-track things pending. A quick skim of Google results by me didn't turn up anything, but doing a bit more thorough search seems like a good next step.
Summary: Can't reply properly when I'm using an alias on a ml → Can't reply properly when I'm using an alias on a mailing list
Here are the headers I've seen proposed in web pages:
X-List-Subscription-Address
X-Recipient
X-Subscriber
X-Listmember

But I haven't seen any of them in my corpus of email. I think a decent next step might be to get a patch submitted to Mailman, or get https://bugs.launchpad.net/mailman/+bug/266678 (originally submitted in 2002) finally fixed.

Later,
Blake.
