until we fix the reply performance, let's add a busy cursor. at least that way
the user will have a clue.

putterman, can you add bryner to the "reply takes a long time" bug?
(I couldn't find it.)
he's got some observations to add.

I don't know if there is one. If there is, it would be ducarroz's. reassigning
to ducarroz.

changing milestone to unknown. It will get changed back when we figure out what
milestone to put this bug in.

Is the quoted message being inserted before the recipients are filled in? I
know it sounds trivial, but doing it the other way around would make the delay
more understandable to the user.
bryner: this is what you were looking for:

I'm not sure if this is the same bug that I was planning on posting so I guess
I'll let you guys decide. I'm on a modem connection but regardless grabbing
the contents of an email isn't instantaneous. Anyway, since I'm lazy-that-way
my favorite way to write to someone I contact a lot is to go to their folder
and just reply to the last email they've sent me. Often times I'll click on an
email and hit the reply button before the email has time to download and display.
The 'Compose New Message' window comes up but with all-empty fields. Even once
the email actually downloads completely in MozMail it still doesn't update the
'Compose New Message' window.
My ideal fix would actually be to have an option where you could right-click on
an email and click 'compose to this sender' but in lieu of that perhaps MozMail
should wait until the email has been downloaded before it presents the 'Compose
New Message' window.

Joe, I wouldn't think this is still valid. What do you think?

Well, I guess there are perf bugs for large messages. But I don't see how this "busy" cursor would be of any value.
