To avoid it, I should restart thunderbird, and retype new password. thnderbird for windows asks new password, I think it is bug on linux. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. start thunderbird. 2. type wrong password into password-input box. 3. click ok button. 4. thunderbird open "authentication failed" dialog. 5. click ok button. 6. click "Get" button (I use Japanese version, I don't know English expression) . 7. thunderbird open "authentication failed" dialog. (thunderbird should ask new password) Actual Results: thunderbird does not ask new password. Expected Results: thunderbird should ask new password.

Phenomenon sounds same as bug 428611. But if so, why no problem on MS Win? If log analysis by developers will be required, please remove or replace sesitive data(private, personal, confidential, ...) before attach file to this bug(never paste long data).

I get new information about the mail server: Our mail server provide POP3 AND IMAP ! The information about windows is from another staff. I ask him his setting (POP or IMAP). and, I try to find log. It seems dup of 428611 ...
