User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.2.8) Gecko/20100724 Firefox/3.6.8
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.2.8) Gecko/20100724 Firefox/3.6.8
When the user selects some bookmarks, then accesses the context menu, the manager has no option to open selected bookmarks. If one uses the Open All in Tabs choice, it wipes out the existing tabs in Firefox and opens new tabs only for those which were selected.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Select bookmarks in the manager
2.Access context menu
3.Note lack of appropriate choices
4.Select Open All in Tabs
Actual Results:
See Details above.
Expected Results:
Context menu should offer to open the selected items, and also in tabs or in windows.
Opening these should not eliminate the existing session information and tabs.
Arch Linux with Xfce 4.6.2

I see that it's not that discoverable, but if you hold down the CTRL key when clicking on "open in tabs" it will preserve your session.

I see that in SM2.1, too. The actual tab is replaced by the first bookmark, the next bookmarks are extending the tablist. STRG+Click gives the expected result.
Memorizing key sequences is a bad idea. There are simply too many to remember.

Version: unspecified → 3.6 Branch
As this is Ctrl+Click it is not mentioned in the menu as the menu only lists keyboard-shortcuts, I guess.
The menu-point just acts as any other normal link in my eyes: normal click uses the current tab, ctrl+click opens new tab(s). So this is perfectly fine.
But there's a valid point here: "the manager has no option to open selected bookmarks." The options to "Open", "Open in new Tabs" and "Open in new Windows" should be added when having selected multiple bookmarks, to be able to open selected ones accordingly.
