58919 - Browser crashes while trying to subscribe to newsgroups/search

This is similar to bug http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=52351 but the 
crash is after the newsgroups have all downloaded.  I'm not sure if this is 
dependent on it yet.

When I download all the newsgroups from our internal news.mcom.com and try to 
subscribe to a newsgroup or two, I crash.  Here's exactly what I did.

1) add news.mcom.com in the mail/news accct settings
2) right click on news in the folder pane and select Subscribe
3) wait until all the newsgroup names appears (takes a LONG time and gets 
progressively slower).
4) once newsgroup names appear, click on Newsgroup: textfield and type in 
'rec.arts.anime.misc'.
5) click on Subscribe widget once rec.arts.anime.misc has focus.
6) click on Newsgroup textfield and type in 'alt.fandom'

I crash at this point.  The first time I crashed I was completely out of virtual 
memory as Talkback said that it couldn't startup due to insufficient memory.

I think there may be two problems -- downloading large newsgroup lists seems to 
consume tons of memory, and trying to search for newsgrouops in this list will 
induce a crash.

this is a dup.  expect to see subscribe acting better in 6.5
