When the "Available Updates" pane is open and some updates are listed you can click on the 'x' button of each entry. In other panes the add-on will be uninstalled, but for this pane we should simply remove the update from the list or even don't show the 'x' button.
Steps:
1. Install an outdated extension, i.e. DOM Inspector 2.0.6
2. Change its settings to get updated manually
3. Search for updates and select the "Available Updates" panel
4. Click the 'x' button of a listed update entry
After step 4 the add-on should not be marked to be removed.

*sigh* This wasn't ever an issue when the uninstall button actually said "Uninstall" (or "Remove", or whatever), rather than looked like a close button.
I really dislike the idea of not being able to uninstall from the Recent Updates pane.
So really, I'd call this a symptom of bug 590201.

Yeah I think you should be able to uninstall from there, it is a definite use case. It just needs to be clear that that button will uninstall.
Depends on: 590201

Now the button is more obvious about removing the add-on I think this is the correct behaviour.
