I created a new profile.
Opened bookmarks Library
Imported most recent bookmarks json file
Library will lockup, and produce stop script warning

this has nothing to do with the bug you are blocking to. It's known and present in every long lasting action (also syncing history or first import from another browser does the same), we have various bugs open on it.

I'm not sure what did you choice from the dialog, continue or stop script? and what's the size of the json?

Alright, I didn't think it was blocking, but seemed generic enough to give it a shot :/ I tried to pick 'continue' at least 3 times. The file size is 527KB.
did you try to import it in safe mode? any extension that could listen to bookmarks?
if you wish to send that json to me by mail, could be useful, too.
Marco, I think I have a file I can send you, I'm not sure if any bookmarks have problems importing, but I've seen maybe there was a few bug fixes since I reported this.
Hi, sorry for late. Did final Firefox 4 make this better? I think in a couple cases it should be much faster.
Needs reporter feedback! There were improvements in this code.
Dennis? ...
